Mobil SHC^TM Gear series is a high performance synthetic industrial gear oil that provides excellent protection for gears and bearings, even under harsh conditions, and extends oil life, helping to keep equipment running smoothly and improving productive forces. Synthetic base oils have excellent oxidative and thermal stability, and have excellent low temperature fluidity. The high viscosity index of these oils makes the viscosity less susceptible to temperature changes, and can extend the operating temperature range and improve low temperature start-up performance.

The patented additive formulation of Mobil SHC Gear Series oils not only provides good lubricity protection against common gear wear such as scratches, but also provides excellent resistance to micro-touch fatigue. In addition, compared with the general gear oil, it can improve the lubrication protection of the gear box rolling bearing. In the case of seawater pollution, Mobil SHC Gear series products have better anti-corrosion performance than traditional gear oil products. Mobil SHC Gear series products do not clog filters even in wet environments and have excellent compatibility with ferrous and non-ferrous metals at elevated temperatures.

Mobil SHC Gear also showed excellent compatibility with elastomers in static sealing tests. Outstanding extreme pressure resistance enables protection under shock loads. The low traction coefficient of the Mobil SHC Gear series of synthetic base oils reduces fluid friction on irregular surfaces (eg gears, rolling bearings), reduces operating temperatures and increases gear efficiency. Laboratory testing under controlled conditions confirms that Mobil SHC Gear series products can improve energy efficiency by up to 3.6%.

The Mobil SHC Gear series is recommended for enclosed industrial gear drives, including steel-to-steel spur, helical and helical gears. These oils are especially recommended to prevent micropitting effects: especially for heavy duty gearboxes with hardened tooth surfaces, but also for extreme low/high temperatures and severe corrosive environments.
